Oscillators & Momentum Indicators
Guide to subpanel oscillators and momentum metrics which display in reserved panels beneath price.
Relative Strength Index (RSI)
Description: A momentum oscillator that measures the speed and change of price movements between 0 and 100.
Identifying overbought conditions (above 70) and oversold conditions (below 30).
Select RSI from the Indicators menu. It will render in a dedicated sub-panel below the main price pane.
MACD
Description: Plots MACD Line (difference between 12 and 26 EMAs), Signal Line (9 EMA of MACD), and a volume-like difference histogram.
Identifying momentum changes, crossovers, and divergence setups.
Add MACD from the Indicators menu. Panel renders below with separate histogram colors.
Stochastic Oscillator
Description: Compares a closing price to its price range over a given time period.
Pinpointing reversal locations inside range-bound markets.
Add Stochastic from Indicators list. The %K and %D lines apply to subpanel.
Stochastic RSI
Description: Applies the Stochastic formula directly to RSI values rather than raw prices.
Creating an extremely sensitive oscillator for fast momentum signals.
Select Stochastic RSI from indicators. Adjust levels in settings.
Commodity Channel Index (CCI)
Description: Measures the current price level relative to an average price level over a period range.
Spotting new trends and extreme overbought/oversold levels.
Select CCI from indicators menu to apply to subpanel.
Woodies CCI
Description: Multi-timeframe CCI indicator configuration with custom zero-line rejection rules.
Confirming trend continuations and momentum rejections.
Select Woodies CCI from indicators catalog.
Rate of Change (ROC)
Description: Measures the percentage difference between the current price and the price N periods ago.
Analyzing momentum velocity and speed of trends.
Add ROC from indicators menu. Renders as oscillator line relative to zero-line.
Average Directional Index (ADX)
Description: Measures the absolute strength of a trend using +DI and -DI directional movement indicators.
Filtering trading setups by trend strength (ADX above 25 signifies strong trend).
Select ADX from indicators list. +DI (green) and -DI (red) render in sub-panel.
Awesome Oscillator (AO)
Description: Plots a momentum histogram showing the difference between a 5-period and 34-period SMA of bar midpoints.
Confirming momentum trends, saucer setups, and zero-line crossovers.
Add Awesome Oscillator from indicators dialog. Renders as green/red histogram bar series.
Aroon & Aroon Oscillator
Description: Measures time elapsed between price highs and lows over a period range.
Determining if a market is trending or consolidating.
Select Aroon or Aroon Oscillator from indicators popup list.
Klinger Oscillator
Description: Combines volume flow with price ranges to identify long-term money flow trends.
Finding divergence signals between volume flow and price action.
Add Klinger Oscillator from indicators catalog.
SMI Ergodic Oscillator
Description: Stochastic Momentum Index variant displaying TSI line and EMA signal line.
Analyzing market momentum cycles with reduced lag.
Select SMI Ergodic Oscillator from indicators menu.
Average True Range (ATR)
Description: Measures market volatility by decomposing the entire range of an asset price over a period.
Setting volatility-adjusted stop losses and position sizes.
Select ATR from indicators dialog. Shows volatility index in subpanel.
On Balance Volume (OBV)
Description: A cumulative volume indicator that adds volume on up days and subtracts on down days.
Measuring buying and selling pressure to anticipate breakouts.
Add OBV from indicators dialog menu.
Volume (VOL)
Description: Plots vertical volume bars showing total transaction quantities per candle session.
Confirming price breakthroughs and liquidity levels.
Renders automatically in a sub-panel layout at the bottom of the chart.
