Oscillators & Momentum Indicators

Guide to subpanel oscillators and momentum metrics which display in reserved panels beneath price.

Relative Strength Index (RSI)

Description: A momentum oscillator that measures the speed and change of price movements between 0 and 100.

Practical Uses

Identifying overbought conditions (above 70) and oversold conditions (below 30).

How to Draw / Use

Select RSI from the Indicators menu. It will render in a dedicated sub-panel below the main price pane.

MACD

Description: Plots MACD Line (difference between 12 and 26 EMAs), Signal Line (9 EMA of MACD), and a volume-like difference histogram.

Practical Uses

Identifying momentum changes, crossovers, and divergence setups.

How to Draw / Use

Add MACD from the Indicators menu. Panel renders below with separate histogram colors.

Stochastic Oscillator

Description: Compares a closing price to its price range over a given time period.

Practical Uses

Pinpointing reversal locations inside range-bound markets.

How to Draw / Use

Add Stochastic from Indicators list. The %K and %D lines apply to subpanel.

Stochastic RSI

Description: Applies the Stochastic formula directly to RSI values rather than raw prices.

Commodity Channel Index (CCI)

Average Directional Index (ADX)

Awesome Oscillator (AO)

Description: Plots a momentum histogram showing the difference between a 5-period and 34-period SMA of bar midpoints.

Aroon & Aroon Oscillator
